Studio Anne Carlton designers have created this outstanding chess set featuring elements of the ocean and man's constant quest to tame the rolling waves, the shrieking storms. Using all his experience, knowledge and seamanship man has taken much of the uncertainty out of voyaging the oceans.
The SAC Nautical chess set characters symbolize man's ongoing relationship and love for the seas. The King is a master mariner of untold experience, whilst the mythical mermaid is his Queen. The Bishop is a wise old son of the sea with stories of sea spouts and terrible storms, while the wandering sea horse is his Knight of the ocean. The Rook is portrayed by the stability and comfort of the lighthouse, and the pawns by that greyhound of the sea, the fast tea clipper.
Hand crafted of ground natural stone, and hand decorated by the professional artists of Studio Anne Carlton, this finely detailed chess set makes a beautiful and decorative statement for the home or office. New, in original factory package. All SAC chess sets are packaged in fitted presentation boxes, and are supplied with printed parchment story sheets which give the history of the set and details of the characters.
